About Me

Hey All!

I am currently an Academic Emergency Medicine Physician in Southern California, I went to high school in So Cal, did my undergrad in So Cal, traveled to New Orleans for Medical School and then came back to So Cal for and EM Residency and to work!  I have a 2 dogs, Ted and Finn, I love to bake, cakes, cupcakes, epic desserts!  I love travel and photography, although I have no time for either! I also tend to over use the exclamation point! :D

I am fairly verse in the tech world, I regularly use the web, have an rss feed to manage all my million and one blogs I follow!  I used to be fluent in adobe, illustrator, photoshop and such, but medicine put all the fun techy stuff on the sidelines and I haven't played in either in several years...same goes for video editing.  I have NEVER made a website...seems exciting!!

I am interested in staying in academic medicine and working with resident education, I think that the the tech industry and multimedia is shaping education quickly and want to get on board so I can be ready to teach the next generation of learners!

  1. Hi Alisa! Is this your first quarter at Cal Poly?

Our medical school recently acquired an Anatomage table along with some other extremely cool tools. I think you may find it interesting. Take a look when you have a moment. http://www.westernu.edu/virtualrealitylearningcenter/

What kinds of multimedia do you see yourself using? Are there any specific types of technology you like to work with; simulations, standardized patients, etc..?

  2. Hi Alisa!

My sister loves to bake all sorts of desserts, as well. She worked as an entomologist in UCR and people were always asking her to bring in cupcakes for various birthdays. I'm sure you get the a lot, haha!

Hope you have a great quarter!
